    I have 217,000 + miles on mine. 2002 pre runner V6 2WD
Was working well until I towed a small trailer almost 900 miles to the Eastern Sierra.
Now it has a shutter in high gear when you try to accelerate.
Anyone else ever have these symptoms ever?
Taking it to Aamco Friday around 11 a.m to check it out.
What should I be worried about.?

That's a lot of miles, probably a rebuild. Don't let them overcharge you! Good luck.

Have them inspect that driveshaft really good. You may have carrier bearing issues. Actually, thinking more about it, it sounds exactly like a carrier bearing issue.

This ^^^. Also I’m wondering if you over heated the tranny when you towed the trailer 900 miles. Over heating the fluid could cause lots of problems.

The fluid looks good. I had it changed last year and still looks fresh, no bad smells whatsoever. Radiator was replaced 2 years ago and never rose above mid point on any part of the trip.
Just got home from a shop to have the rear trans mount replaced, but the wrong part was shipped and we weren't able to change it. Center driveshaft bearing looks good and I didn't notice any weights missing on the driveshaft.
Have a 11 a.m appt at AAmco to inspect. Wait and see what they say.

Well the report on the transmission is..................

    It seems to be fine.

So what could it be. No codes or check engine light on. But it just started to occur last Sunday and only really shows up in high gear and when you accelerate, then it shudders a little and has a lack of power.
The shop says its most likely one coil pac or plug not working well under load. I think I tend to agree, as the idle is a bit rough recently.

Checked a few you tube videos and it looks fairly straight forward change out
So, OEM off of Amazon ? Any one have any history with that? And any pit falls to look out for?
    TIA
