Reverse Sequential Turn Signals

So thanks to @crashnburn80 and his research on lightning, output, beam patterns, etc. On a variety of different bulbs and headlights, I have upgraded my 2017 headlamps to the new 2020 OEM LED headlamps. Almost a year since, and I absolutely love them. They have a quality build, good output and I personally think they look great!

But the one thing I like the most about them is the turn signals. Up to now, I kind of dislike sequential turn signals, since I personally think they look a little cheap/cheezy/ricey. Something about that fade in/fill till full effect just doesn't look right to me.

However the Tacoma's sequentials are different, as they fade out, from a full flash and fade to one side. It has the functionality of a standard sudden bright flashing turn signal with the added modern sequential animation. Some call it the reverse sequential turn signal? I think they look awesome. I have tried to look up for more examples, and other than @MESO V5 Turn Signals, nothing came up. Are the Tacoma's headlights the only example of these kind of sequentials?

I thought this would have been a cool way for Toyota to differentiate themselves from competitors, but they haven't implemented it into any of their other vehicles. Even the new 2022 Landcruiser the "standard" style sequential turn signals.

Does anyone else want to see more products, even other cars with a similarly styled sequential?

TLDR: Reverse Sequential Turn Signals are hot stuff, and I want more

 

Out of curiosity, what did you use for your harness conversion? I've heard mixed reviews about the seller of the one that I know is sold on here. (I forget the name)

 

Reverse sequential are becoming more popular. Some examples that I have seen are; mustang mach-e, new Toyota Avalon, and many Audi’s.

 

I must be the odd man out, because I don't care for any type of sequential signal or brake light. It all looks cheesy to me. I just want them to blink, or be on or off.

 

I actually used Mike's/xrunnerdude's harness. I did have communication issues and several delays, but I can honestly say the harness I received was topnotch quality. He also makes the harness for the Tundra's LED headlights.

 

While I agree, the reverse is more subtle than a full “standard sequential”. It lights up solid just like OEM and the fade off is much quicker, almost unnoticeable to the untrained eye.

 

I just went and check those, and I am really liking the mach-e and Audi versions. The Avalon was kind of bad, front has standard sequential and the rear are reverse sequential. Although, it is Good to know there are more examples of it. Is reverse sequential the proper term for it?

I agree, the initial flash from a reverse sequential is like that of a standard turn signal, then you have the fading away animation as a nice modern subtle touch.

That is a standard or the most common form of the sequential turn signal, were it fills to full or fades in. Usually their animation is much more obvious as the intervals between them are longer.

 

Sequential is actually a safety feature. It is supposed to give other drivers an indication of which direction the vehicle will be turning without observing the entire vehicle to know which side of the vehicle an indicator is on.

 

I know this is an old thread, but I came here to see if I'm nuts or whether ppl like me think the sequence is arse backwards. When you look at all other traffic signaling like emergency vehicle traffic control signaling, the light starts and moves in the direction of the intended move. I just don't see how fading conveys the same message. It makes me think about the toilet paper coming over top or hanging behind controversy.
