Anyone know what this plug is for? It is near the accelerator pedal. Haven’t been able to find anything on it. Thanks

    Automatic or manual transmission truck?
Green wire with white or yellow stripe?

Looks to be for the parking brake switch.

ahhh.....its like the other plug on the clutch pedal.....not needed, just disconnect it.

I'm sure the Toyota engineers only added that to increase cost and their profit.

Actually…Toyota builds wiring harnesses as a standard to fit multiple trim packages to save money as opposed to increasing cost. Instead of model or trim specific wiring harnesses they make a bunch of the same and cap off what isn’t used or leave it behind switch panels.

True. Every manufacturer follows that production method.

Less expensive to build 4 harnesses that cover all models instead of 1 harness for each model.

    Automatic Transmission.
It’s green and yellow. It won’t reach anything. Wondering how I didn’t notice it before.

You can see the green/yellow wire here for the brake switch. Maybe it's for the parking brake in the manual transmission cars (those have a handle above the gas pedal).
Maybe ground the wire and see if your emergency brake indicator lights up?

That complete dash harness is meant for compatibility between both the auto and stick shift trucks. Even the ECM plugs are the same. That wire is for the parking brake when you have the M/T.

Not that I condone it …but if you have a aftermarket stereo your passenger could watch videos while you’re driving on your HU if you were to ground the parking cable
