Hello all. I popped my hood this morning before work to add some washer fluid, and could not get the latch to lock afterwards. I have had this issue slightly every once in a while for the past yr or so, but after fiddling with the latch it always is able to lock down.

I coated the latch with silicone spray, moved the latch through its motions with a screw driver, but couldn't get it to lock the hood down.

After 20 mins of messing with it, I had to borrow my dads Tacoma to get to work.

Any advise on what I need to do to get my hood closed?

    Reserected from the dead.
I bet your cable is in the reliese position. It takes a very thin flat blade screwdriver to slide it in between the latch and the spring. Just nudge the ball on the end of the cable to the passenger side. You will hear it click.
