Our labor was $75 bucks an hour at our motorcycle shop, and it would take me about 3 hours to do my own top end.... sounds close to me

If you part it out you could get 350 easily for just the bottom end.

Don't give up! These bikes are stupid easy to work on. All you need for a top end rebuild is screw drivers, needle nose pliers, size 8, 10, 12mm sockets and gasket maker for the exhaust. 3 hours wtf, half hour tops bro if you trying to slam her back together to ride with your buddies...lol.
Before pulling the cylinder off if you didn't, go get one of these bad boys and give us some numbers

how old is the gas in the carb? A 2 dollar can of carb cleaner at wally world will fix that. DONT lose the parts inside!

3hrs, because we were never in a hurry, It was normally just a time for us to BS and hang out in the garage, drink beer and shit.

I was just messing with you. The half hour rebuilds were back when I was in high school and my buddies would call me up "hey man we are going riding right now". Then you are riding and have that thought in the back of your mind thinking, I better hope that last c-clip is in right. Of course the I'll take it easy "break-in" only would last an hour. I'm now going with your method, crack open an ice cold brew and make it a day in the garage. [IMG]

Hell yea its a time to take it easy bullshit with the friends, talk about how much they suck and that your going to put shit together wrong haha. Its hard to make the break in period last more than like 6 laps then your just itching to go balls to the wall!
