I’m super heartbroken someone stole my Gem. Jade green 2002 Tacoma 4x4 2.7 lt manual transmission single cab from my work place June 11th in Vancouver, Wa.
I purchased her new and took amazing care of her for 19 years. Only had 160,570 miles on it. Hard to believe someone can just take her from me like that! I put so much work into her in the last 2 years, she was in immaculate condition. I wish I would of gotten around to putting a GPS or new alarm system. I looked everywhere for over a week and finally put my insurance claims in the other day. I’m super devastated!

Wow, that really sucks. I wouldn't be surprised if someone stole it with the intention of shipping it out of the country. I had that same exact year and model truck, but in bright red and 2wd. It was a prerunner, 2.7, auto. Very reliable trucks. Built a lot better than the 3rd gens.

I purchased a steering wheel club and brake pedal club for our vehicles, because our neighborhood had a really bad car theft problem a few years ago. The same jackasses tried stealing our 4runner about 7-8 times over the course of a couple months. They eventually gave up, but stole my neighbors car instead and broke into a few others on the street. We all have security cameras now. o_O

Keep an eye out on online for it just in case. Ya never know. Any possibility your neighbors might have had their eye on it?

I have it posted everywhere, tons of people shared my posts. I was thinking about the on a truck shipped out or even just parting it out? The nerve of some people and nothing good will ever come to them in life. So sad.

I’m in Portland and have the same truck except auto transmission and not nearly as clean. I’m so sorry that it happened to you. I’ll keep my eyes peeled. Any distinguishing features that would lead to a positive id even if someone switched plates?

I don't think they are as theft-proof as everyone makes them out to be. Maybe in areas where the thieves are more of the amateur opportunist type, but where pro car thieves are concerned I don't think they are deterred by what kind of transmission it has.

Probably already crossed the southern border as parts unfortunately. Hope you can find an equal replacement!
