TIA. My 06 Tacoma TRD makes a knocking sound when the Max ac button is pushed. Blower motor and filter removed, cleaned and seem fine. I keep on top of those. Below the glove box, and above the cabin filter seems to be where the knocking sound is coming from. Any suggestions?

So when the max ac button is pushed these two flaps come down, to close off the outside air I assume. They seems to be clapping against this plastic piece(stationary) and are definitely creating the slapping/knocking sound. If that helps. Any tips to fix that?

Doing more research and it seems these are called the blend doors and I’m assuming it’s the blend door motor. Easy to replace?

Most likely the servo motor for the recirculation door has failed and the gears are stripping causing the noise.
