I am looking to purchase a 4 door used Tacoma . I have one listed in my area for 2018 SR with a 4 cylinder engine. for $24,000 10,000 miles.

What your opinion on a 4 cylinder?

the 4 cyl is underpowered in the four door auto trans combo, but if you arent in a rush, it's a bullet proof motor that will last 200k + miles.

I have 270k on mine and its only now started to cause me any issues. I say go for it if the price is right for you!

It's an affordable and reliable machine. I think it will cause you less trouble than the current V6, though yes, it's not a fast machine. 24K seems about market value, maybe a touch high.

It will do everything you want it to do, only slower.

I like mine just fine. Slower on acceleration than the V6 but once you get there just as fast. And a proven engine for reliability. Drive it and decide for yourself.

If you’re looking for longevity and reliability you’re looking in the right area, if you’re looking to get that little tingly feeling when you push the pedal down look somewhere else

    I treat mine like a v6.

    None...yet.
I picked my 2019 up last week and so far and I am pleased. Not looking for go fast or bouldering, just a great everyday truck.
I did move up from a Honda HRV, so just about anything seems faster...

Speed limit's 55; it's whether you get there in 6 seconds or 7.5 seconds I guess*

Mines a 4cyl 4 door as well. I have just about every heavy mod on the truck and converted to 4x4. Toyota never made a 4cyl double cab 4x4(probably because of weight). I have 5.29 gears and its slow but still holds 70 on interstate. You'd be fine with a lift tires and a couple of pieces of armor. I would regear to minimum of 4.56 though.
