So it's happened to me a couple of times now whilst braking on an off ramp.
I suddenly get the feeling that I come across black ice in the middle of summer.
It strikes you fast. The engine dies and I straighten my steering as if on ice and I'm on a curve so I need to keep steering. It lasts for about 3 seconds and then it goes away.
The only thing I can think of is it's a skid sensor that thinks I'm losing control and cuts the power. The thing is I'm not skidding or squealing while going around the ramp. I mean... I'm a little aggressive, but I'm by no means about to lose control.
Has this happened to anyone else? :notsure:

ABS sensor or cables? Only on ramps or does it happen on turns as well?

Well I mean like left or right turn on a standard street, not just an off/on ramp.

so far it's been just on ramps. Maybe because on ramps your speed is faster than just making a turn.

Also it should be noted that whilst I'm turning... I'm also braking.

Find a big empty lot and brake and turn! Any mods that would pinch/stretch the ABS lines? I'm not sold thats the problem, just a decent place to start.

Does your Tacoma have a yaw sensor?

Does the engine actually turn off, as in RPMs drop to zero, then come back on?

Have you checked your oil level recently?

No yaw sensor I'm aware of.
    Engine does not turn off.
    Oil level is fine.

Theres a thread on here about recalibrating the VSC sensor. Might give that a try.

Broken / stretched ABS lines should throw warning lights
