Michigan TAC was badass! This was my second time doing a TAC and it was just as awesome the first time around. If there is one coming your way.....do yourself....try and sign up!

In other news, I have been shooting this EVO NTN like crazy and so I'm selling my Hoyt Ventum 33. Both are fantastic bows, but if the gold EVO NTN is too flashy to take hunting so I want another NTN for hunting.

If anyone is interested, I will make a deal for my TW brethren.

Three 1-1/2 year old bucks that are always here with their sisters and moms, total of six in the family unit. 7/9/21 update: Now ten in the family unit. Four of the cutest little fawns you have ever seen!
    20210606 - Three year and a half bucks, they're here 3-4 times a day.jpg

Same three. Look at the cougar claw marks on the front one. These guys seldom get off the golf course and are always within a couple hundred yards from here. That cat is in close.
    20210606 - Cougar scars.jpg

These five frequent the other side of the neighborhood, but have been over here in my yard lately, probably because whoever is feeding them over there is NOT STUPID ENOUGH TO PAY $9.99 FOR A BAG OF CORN! This at 11am on the 9th. They are real tame. If you have corn in a bucket they'll walk right up to within five yards of you. Probably hand fed over wherever it is they usually get fed. Me too in a few weeks. Let'em get use to me. I went out about nine to move the sprinklers and saw them across the street about to duck into the treeline, about eighty yards. I called to them, got their attention and froze them, then told them PawPaw would "go get it" and man, they did an about-face and came running! They ALL understand what "PawPaw will go get it" means. I've called them from here off the #13 green, over 200 yards, they come trotting over to get corn. Today, the 17th, all of their horns are visibly larger than just back on the 9th. It'll be ON soon! That's Blanch the old red fox squirrel with them. She tried scaling my leg yesterday: I was a little slow getting the iced oatmeal cookie out of the bag, and she decided she was going to save some time and come up and get it. Got to my thigh. Damn those claws hurt...she's a sweety though. She old and laid back, and has a gentle personality about her.

    20210609 - Five bucks at 11am 2.jpg

New record: EIGHT bucks in the yard at one time. Haven't done that in 36 years here. "My" three, and the other five:

20210609 - EIGHT bucks at seven thirty pm.jpg
All eight at one time, plus two sisters.

RTK, I found this North Face Cat's Meow at GoodWill...for $9.99. Heck, the compression sack I bought to put it in cost more than the bag! Two washes and two trips through the dryer with a tennis shoe and it lofted almost twice this high. Not down, but paired with my NF Inferno I now have all the bases covered: Inferno down for real cold and dry, and now Cat's Meow synthetic fill for humid and wet nights, which, unfortunately, are quite common here. It will do duty in the hammock, unzipped and upside down on top of me as a top quilt with foot box.

I ended up buying a new old stock ritual 30. Hopefully I can put one down with it this year. I’ll be traveling around Kentucky / Virginia / North Carolina for my job so the hunting will be different from Missouri and Mississippi.

I’ve been eyeing the old 2020 stock of Xpedition bows at my local sportsman’s warehouse. Had to go shoot my Hoyt to reassure myself I didn’t need another bow. Then proceeded to order a new quiver and broad heads in an attempt to hold me over.

How are you liking the Elite? I’ve heard nothing but good things about their bows.

Don’t have much to compare it to. Shot some bears, a bowtech flagship from 17 if I remember. It just felt good to me when I shot it and it was a good deal. I appreciate having the warranty as well and a plus about elete is if you break your bow while on a hunting trip they will overnight a same spec bow to you so you can still hunt. Hopefully I never end up there.

Draw is super smooth and solid back wall. I feel like it is as steady or steadier than the 33-34” bows I shot and it is only 30.5. At 60lb and 29” it shot 283 with a 400gr setup. Biggest downside is it uses different mods to change draw length.

Have you shot the Xpedition? I did not like it at all, but I enjoy the pse smooth draw and light holding weight without having to chase speed

I’ve shot the Mako, but not the MX-16 (predecessor) that’s on sale for $699. A PSE is going to be a step up regardless in my opinion, though.

That's a really sweet bow. When I bought my Hoyt HyperForce in '18 it came down to two bows, the HyperForce and the Ritual. I shot both bows for 3 hours at Lancaster Archery. Loved everything about the Ritual. The draw cycle seemed a touch harsher, not enough really to sway my mind. In the end, I ended up listening to the tech and got the Hoyt. Do have some regrets in that while it shoots great, it was a bitch to tune and after some time with it, it just doesn't seem to hold as well at full draw. Keep thinking I should have gone with the Elite.

Anyone try out the new Easton Axis Long Range yet? I want to give them a try to lighten up my arrow setup and get sone more speed outta my bow.

Threw some heads up on the garage wall today!

Looks awesome! I have not tried the Easton Axis LR yet, I do shoot 5MM axis though and love them! In 300 spine the LR is 1.4gpi lighter....very interesting!

We got our utility trailer finished up last weekend, minus stain and poly. Ready to take this thing out west this fall for some elk!

Trailer is wired to run off a single battery for lights, water pump, and ceiling vent and generator for a double 110 outlet and heater

Propane will power the hot water heater for the sink and shower. 2 30 gallon water tanks under the counter at the front of the trailer.

Best feature is we built it so that it will be able to accommodate a sxs while bunks are folded up
