Wed-Thursday I Started swapping front shocks and installing brake upgrade. Had a change of plans as the 6112 I had to temporarily replace Kings didnt fit, so the retune is on hold. Went ahead and installed the 700 pound springs I was holding on to.. Steel brake lines just showed up so I should have all this back together today.
Cleaned up some rust on my spindle gussets where mud was trapped behind the brake dust shield.

Started on my back end.. Have my Archive Shock Relocation going in in a couple weeks, so wanted to get this done..

New BAMF leaf hangers to mount a newer set of Dakars, still used, but in better shape than what I had, with a brand new add-a-leaf. This should give me a little rear height back and get me through the next year or so until I pick up some new Deavers.

Cleaned up my very nasty Trail Gear ubolt flip brackets, and added new Archive bumpstops. Brackets already had 3/8 tapped holes that lined up perfect with the bump stops, which was a nice surprise..

Picked my truck up from Rock Your 4x4 in North Knoxville Sat 6/12. Those guys have always done right by me, just wish they didnt have a 3 month wait to get in. They welded in my @ARCHIVE Shock Relocation and some limit strap tabs, and installed my new King 2.5s. The put the shock mounts a hair higher than specced, which matched my leaf spring travel and bumpstops. So I have about 6" of up-travel, and the rest for droop. I plan on getting a year out of these springs, and will be adding a D60 and Deavers(likely) next spring, unless the new Archive leafs in the works are available and look as good as I think they will. So I will revisit the axle shock mount placement then.

So because I was itching to try out the new rear...

Took some family out for a little fun in Kentucky yesterday. Hammered the snot out of my new rear suspension shooting a small creek popular with the locals. The water was mostly low, and I say mostly as I did hit one hole that water flowed onto the hood, which sits at 48”.. The Archive Shock relocate held up great to the abuse, but I lost a caliper bolt somewhere along the trail. Thankfully it was the top bolt so as I was sending it it wasn't too much trouble and I didn't realize I had a problem right away as the bottom bolt held for quite a while. got off the trail and went to reverse and that's when I knew things were kinda bad.. chewed up the inside of my wheel a little bit. Zip tied the caliper back in place and limped to a local shop to where I was, 3 hours from home. Pulled in at 5, the place closed at 6. The guy asked me to pull up to a bay and when I did my brakes totally failed. I damn near hit 3 parked cars before I could throw it into park(ebrake did not grab either, for some reason). My metal brake line that attaches to the caliper had been stressed driving with the top bolt out, and it split as I was pulling into the guy's drive. I can only say it was divine intervention. I don't know what anybody's faith is but I felt like we were looked out for yesterday. Had we tried to head to an auto parts store instead, or had he been closed, we would have been in serious trouble at the next intersection..

The creek we were in was a geode creek so we picked up our fill throughout the day. On the way there we hit a road cut with geodes exposed which was a nice pit stop before the creek..

All that being said it was a great adventure. Hit 20mph shooting the creek which was hella fast considering.. 10/10 would do again!

Did find my first pickle with the new awning.. Fallen tree across the creek was just low enough I could clear my rack, but not the awning, so we had to trench out the drivers side to squeeze under. Didn't think to bring the chainsaw, and I don't have much turn back in me so dig it was..

About the 4:16 mark is the deep hole we hit.. Center hoop of front bumper is 48" high, so this hole was somewhere around 50-52".. 'Pucker City!' scuba.jpg

Painted up a new single Jerry can holder, as I am ditching the twin holder to make room for my new Worthington 6 gallon Propane bottle on my swingout..

Aside from a re-gear, I am pretty much ready for my August trip. Driving out to Grand Tetons to pick up my dad and do a small job for the Jackson Lake Lodge, then heading up tp Montana to do some trout fishing and hunt some rocks. May skirt over to Eastern Idaho while we are at it. Super pumped!

Well I have a trip planned for August to head out west. But would like to do some weekend day trips between now and then. I feel like there are a few areas I havent seen or explored yet around E Ten.. If you need a hand or just want some emotional support with those coilovers, let me know.

Hey @EatSleepTacos , @6 gearT444E . I value both of you guys' expertise and experience.. What do you think of this locker. Its part of a completer rear I can get a really sweet deal on, but now I am seeing what looks like what may be a little rust I wasn't expecting. Think it'll clean up, or should I pass?
