Man seeing the rust on your truck makes me so happy they aren't allowed to salt the roads here, they can only put down grit/gravel.

That's pretty slick. As I scrolled through the post I was wondering how it was gonna work. Until I saw it installed I was thinking garage door style spring, not linear spring.

He has helped many a Customers out with issues.

I dont notice any twisting. It works the same as if lifting it by hand from one side.

So far the plasma table is not giving me issues that I can't solve. Mostly its finding time to work with the thing. It is a massive time suck!

My coupling for the Z axis stepper is supposed to be here tomorrow. Programming that thing to do what I want may be a challenge. We shall see.

Learning these things has been an enlighgening experience. Much of what you learn earlier helps you learn to solve your next hurdle.

I really am enjoying the process. I just had no idea that it would be such a long process.

Maybe if I didn't have so many other projects going it would take less time. I dunno?

Bet my plasma table takes longer to build lol..

It is truly a "someday" project. I really need to just fork over the cash and by steel to build the frame. And move it along a bit. But.. have a million other things going on and this is a lower priority especially since people don't seem to interested in the bed rack design. At least yet...

So this is more of a because I can and I want to build something project. Than anything else. Maybe once it cools off a bit I will feel a more motivated. Just need to save some of that OT money.

    Just build that frame!
    You can handle that.
It's the electronics that take forever, but you'll see that frame sitting there knowing that it needs some electronic hardware, to start making it look more complete.

    Where is that?
I hate salt, grew up in Ohio. I had both subframe mounts break free while I was driving once on my first car.

Oregon. The rule applies to most of the PNW because the salt isn't good for the salmon.

Salmon out there swimming up a river not knowing they’re saving thousands of chassis’ lives.

What do they use on the roads?

Typically sand, gravel, or volcanic cinders (think extra coarse gravel from crushed lava rock)

I have a plasma table, but nowhere to set it up. I'd love to get to work with it and learn how to use it. shaeff needs a shop. :(

Plenty of room in my basement, but no welding or plasma in the house, that shit'll kill ya.

Why do you feel it will kill you to weld or cut in the basement?? Unless of course A Woman is involved then I can understand your fear of death!!

My apartment is in my Shop I am not dead yet .Exhaust fans do work as well as fume extractors

My Kitchen table/ Work Bench at times is used for welding.
