Just muscled up and bought my first Tacoma about 4 weeks ago. I went with the 2018 TRD Off Road premium package (2x4) with leather seats, JBL sound system, sunroof, etc.

For my first mod, I'm in the market for a leveling kit and some all-terrain tires but I can't decide on which one and what size... Overall,
    • I'd like the truck to be level, or have a very slight backwards lean if any at all. Should i get a 2" spacers in the front? Do i need any lift in the back?
    • I'd also like to maintain the factory ride - I'd think that I won't need to upgrade shocks if my Off Road package already comes with the upgraded Bilsteins
    • Will I need wheel spacers to avoid rubbing the control arms? I like the look of having the tire width flush with the trim of the wheel wells
    • Lastly, I'm trying to maintain some decent fuel economy so I'm thinking some 275 tires would be good? Rim size is 16
Anyway, just looking for some advice or input from my fellow Tacoma community. Thanks in advance

I say, buy 5100’s and call it done. (If you can find them in stock)
    Skip the spacer.
Why bother with the rear if all you are looking for is “Level”? - Skip that as well.

Personally, I’d go 5100’s and add back the same amount of rake. (Rear lift)
Ideally, you’d want to go with new rear springs (or an AAL) .
But that’s a whole different direction than you are looking for.

    Like, so many.
    275s will likely rub.

Thanks guys. Looks like the Bilstein 5100s are on back order until next year (damnit). Any other brands you'd recommend for a similar coil over strut kit? It looks like Readylift use Bilsteins (backordered as well), and there's always Rough Country. I've heard some not great things about Rough country over the years, but apparently they've really improved their products over this past year. Any thoughts?

I bought someone's Pro shocks, which leveled the truck by lifting the front a bit. Replaced the wheels with +0 offset aftermarket 4Runner Pro knockoffs (there's a thread/ group buy happening now). From what I've read I'm not sure I would trust spacers, though I haven't used them myself. Oh, and I mounted 265/70/17 Falken Wildpeaks.

I think what you're aiming to do will end up looking a lot like this:

Are the 5100s adjustable or are they set to a certain height? I am looking to level my SR5 (1.5-2 inches). Also should we/I be worried about anything else (differential drop.. etc)?

The bottom spring perch has different notches to adjust height. If you google image it, you will see what I'm talking about. Only thing you may need to worry about is your needle bearing in the front diff. If you search there are thousands of posts about it. Pretty easy fix.
