Im retired USN. Son has cool 2007 Tacoma. Been fixing things. I'll buy it from him when he finishes college in several months so I am getting head start.

Issue: I need to get stock silver/grey paint for dashboard ( has lengthy cratch/sun damage etc.
    1. Do I need VIN # to match stock paint for 2007 ?
    2. Where can I buy the same paint color so I stay within color/shade ?

There is no matching paint for the interior. The trim code is on the door tag. But the trim code will not designate a paint code just a generic color like silver, grey, tan etc.

Look at a close match in duplicolor rattle can
And then clear it in Matt not gloss

Any paint/body shop can get you a color that is real close to the original color.
