I know there is a lot of debate on this but for me the AC to DC is worth it. Believe me, I had a 2005 AC that I absolutely loved with low miles. Loved that truck. But love the 2020 TRD OR much more for the extra space. For some, I get that it is not that much but for our family it made a huge difference, especially on long drives.

I wouldn't worry about all of these macro factors, such as trading with China, the chip business, etc. Too many moving parts now to predict the future. We can open up trade and solve the chip issues and pent up demand could still lead to inflated car prices, new and/or used. These times are unprecedented and hard to predict one way or another.

Focus on the two things that are driving your deal -- AC to DC and the numbers on the table.

I appreciate the sentiment, and that's basically what I need to decide when it comes in is if the DC is worth it. I drive around with tools, jumper cables, tow strap etc so that takes up even more space that I could use the DC for. Slowly killing me lol

I recently traded in for a similar situation. Had a 2017 trd or dcsb but was 2wd. We relocated to the Pacific Northwest and found out I would be better off with something 4wd. In Texas, never needed 4wd, so didn’t make sense until we moved. Granted, I paid more, but I also got more features, and I even scored a 6MT, so all in all it was worth it to me and I love the new truck. If the deal/truck end up worth it to you, that’s all that matters. I didn’t want to spend another 10k+, but I did get a brand new truck with full warranty instead of a 4.5 year old truck with 50k miles…only lost $1500 vs what I had paid new in October 2016.

I actually had a 1st gen x cab and hated it. Too small and the x cab didn't open like the newer ones suicide doors and it was a great decision. Could I live with my truck now? Yeah I could, I just hate passing up on great deals and I have an opportunity to get EXACTLY what I want.

Sometimes I wish we were in a computer simulator game where the computer told me what I like and if the deal was "average" or "great" lol

Right now that is a great deal on your trade .. and you got to put 30k on it .. and I have had 3 double 3rd gens .. I wanted a ac this go around but I was able to drive one and there is not a lot of room I have two kids who are tall .. so it just made sense to me to get another double cab.. I had a sr , sr5 now a off road ..

Well for anyone following, the dealership called me and said Toyota called them and canceled my 2021 order because they are going to begin rolling out the 2022s. The 2022 apparently gets rid of the voodoo blue I wanted and has slightly different configurations that the dealer does not have much control over yet so I will be keeping my truck for 190k more miles I guess since the market will never be this high again.. thanks for everyone that participated, it was great to hear from you all on other Tacoma drivers' thoughts but if it's meant to happen, it'll happen and the cards just aren't there
