LOL @ some of the elitism ‘good driving skills’ nonsense. Manual drivers are f’ing embarrassing sometimes.
Sometimes features like this are nice to have. They do not speak to anyone’s actual driving skill.

That said, my OR does not have HSA.

I'm old AF I guess. Back in my day, the handbrake was a necessity for manuals.
Yeah, when my BIL threw me the keys and told me to go take her for a spin, he very briefly mentioned the hill assist feature. I was so psyched to drive his new car, I probably wasn't paying close enough attention, lol. When I found his WRX it was parked on a steep downhill sloop with a brand new BMW parked probably a foot away. Out of habit I kept trying to use the old handbrake method to keep me from inching forward. Well, after my 2nd attempt I was nearly on top of the BMW. I thankfully figured it out on the third try but I definitely was not kind to his clutch.

A clutch brake slows the tranny down usually found in non synchronized transmissions.

Hsa the brakes stay on for 1-5 sec or until the throttle is applied to prevent rollback

I just wanted to clarify something, the title of this thread (and a few responses) refer to clutch start cancel. Clutch start cancel allows you to start the truck without depressing the clutch and start moving in first gear. Hill assist is different and is what keeps you from rolling back (for about 5 seconds) after taking your foot off the brake.
