Damn! I wish I had your jointer! I'm currently stuck with a 6" Jet that doesn't really want to stay in adjustment. I sure do love my Festool equipment though.

I noticed the oil based poly is too thick consistency, im thinking of cutting it with mineralspirits to apply on some of my stuff

First machine I bought. It’s a beast! When the knives get dull I may shelix it up, if the motor can handle it.

I was replying to you above and somehow missed the quote button. Just like I missed the giant tension knob on the raise/lower adjustment that has been missing from my machine since I bought it!

    https://share.icloud.com/photos/0oqxwmX3_LCli0BeV46fzNvtw

So that knob sitting just under the dust collector shroud there - I'm supposed to have one on the front AND the back. Go figure. Short trip to the hardware store and I ought to be good to go, just slap a nut and a nylon washer on it. Been trying to figure that out for months! Hard to see what isn't there.

It takes less power to run a shellix head. You'll be fine.

Most of my old machines are metal working machines. I do collect vintage wood working tools though.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
That's what I do if I'm using it from a can. I buy one of those empty metal cans, fill it about a quarter way and then start adding some spirits until I get the consistency I want

It's maple with a light stain, can't remember the color though, lol.
These where the boards it came out of. It was kind of a darker maple to start with.

Nope, it was definitely a maple, not sure what species though. Possibly a Norway or a king crimson. I used to work with a tree company years ago and that's where I got a lot of my wood stash. I would just mark boards maple and not the actual species.

This is one of the ways I get my wood. A chainsaw mill. I can make cuts 38" wide. I dont move the logs, I carry the mill to the logs and remove them a board at a time.
This is the set up for the first cut.
    milling-day-3-022.jpg
Making a 5" slab of maple. This got cut up into turning blanks.

    A nice ambrosia maple log.

    Pushing through another 5" slab.
