I'm so frustrated with my new Fox 2.5s.

My alignment is strait up dog shit..... waiting on my jd fab UCA's. But this can be pushed forward a ton more and I'm running a 3/4 wheel spacer. Lol

You didn’t hurt my feelings one bit. I think that’s awesome. Your tires look freaking cool. What fender flares are you using that gets rid of that incredibly stupid and intrusive nub down the bottom of the back of the wheel well?

 

Not further back. Further forward. When I say "excessive" I mean the added caster from the UCA pushed 'em back. Now they need to (it seems to me) add caster by adjusting LCA cams and getting that wheel further forward in the wheel well.

I'm sure the alignment gurus can chime in here. Alignment adjustments and numbers, and how to attain them are clearly not in my wheelhouse. But your tire certainly sits further back than it should be ideally?

 

I apologize for not communicating properly. I’ve been informed that you cannot push my front wheels forward anymore than it already is. It’s at maximum forwardness. I agree with you if we could then that would pretty much eliminate all problems.

 

Those are factory fender flares that have been trimmed to fit 35's. As we said earlier... after wheel selection (offset and width) and after alignments, the only thing left to do is break out the cutters, grinders, and hammers.

 

Thank you. I’m prepared to cut the stuff but not me personally. I would butcher it to the point where it becomes an eyesore.

 

Your rims are 1" skinnier and tires are 1.5" skinnier. This guy's stuff would fit fine too with the same setup.

 

That and 255s just look weird on these trucks IMO.

I’m having 14” 700lb springs put in today. Hopefully that takes care of the rest of this rubbing and I can carry on a normal life after this. LOL

 

I'm sure there might be some small trimming needed here and there but you'll find it as you wheel it. The longer heavier springs should help perch up the front of the truck, though!

@AccuTune Offroad would these still qualify for free shipping? Even if they require their own pallet? I'm on the 3rd floor, so tell FedEx to be careful and wear a weight belt.

It’s my understanding Fox is not happy I’m putting them on because they do not recommend 700lb 14” springs on their 2.5s. Apparently they were consulted and rejected this idea.

 

Or you can keep your current spring, have it ride well and then modify the vehicle to suit your wheel and tire setup. You have minimal trimming and a rather mild CMC completed. I suggest purchasing a grinder and become comfortable with the idea of getting aggressive.

Think about this for a moment. How many people are running 35's and avoiding the issues you're experiencing with 33's? I never ran 3" of lift, but I did run a 35" toyo m/t because I was comfortable with a cutoff wheel and a hammer. Your setup isn't unique, you don't need 3" of lift.

 

His issue is he is only getting around 1 inch of lift with the 600lbs coils cranked down. He has a winch and steel bumps. I'm running fox 2.5s with 14" 700lbs coils and it rides smooth as can be.

 

Brother I have the artist skills of a caveman. I have zero idea what I’m doing and I’m sure I would only do irreversible damage. I would however be more then happy to pay someone to do it. I have do have certain talents. Electrical and HVAC. I have speaking talent. Artistic? Nope. Lol. Any ideas?

 

That is a 14” 700lbs coil? Looks great. How lifted is it?

 

The problem with overly cranking down lower weight coils in attempt to get the lift you want is you'll get coil binding when they flex out. Pictured below is mine and it's got a bit more before the spring itself binds up. But a 600lbs coil cranked way down would almost Definitely be fully compressed into itself.

 

I actually pulled a little preload out of those since this picture. That way at 2.75 lift. Currently sitting at 1.75 like so

 

I was already at 1.75” of lift with the 13” coil and 2.5 Fox. Granted it was screwed almost all the way down. I’m guessing between adding the extra 1” and have less sag I will easily get the 3” above stock I’m looking for without adding any extra stress on the shock. Am I right? Sorry if I’m using the wrong terminology.
