Towing harness plug 3rd gen

    2018 Silver Tacoma TRD Off Road
    I have a 2018 off road and need to replace the plug that connects to the 7 round/4 flat connector due to a bad connection point in the plug. Toyota service said I need to replace the entire wire harness at $1300 which seems excessive for a small plug. Toyota said they do not splice things but is that something I can do or will splicing an aftermarket plug create other problems?

    I'd go to a salvage yard and see what they have. 100% of the time the stealer is going to quote you the most expensive, money in their pocket, option available.
