Just picked up a ‘21 sport and looking o have it tuned. Need some leads on someone in the Sacramento/Roseville area.
Also advice on voiding warranty, does it? Do you have to flash back before service or warranty work?

Curious, what is the answer on servicing? Do you have to flash back?

Nope, the dealership cannot detect the tune. We have never seen any issues regarding being denied service because of the tune.

Just got the cvc tune 6-11-21.
Pre-tune review: 30+ miles to meet up. Very Tacoma-y. Engine feels half hollow as always and the transmission is still drunk, never finding a gear it should be in.
Tune time review: This dude is sick cool.
Post-tune u-turn: Uhhhhh. I didn't push ect. Why does my truck feel like a 6 cylinder. Oh wait. It is.
1000 ft post-tune: send him a text. Bruh. This is awesome.
30+ miles post-tune: My engine finally has met my transmission officially. Truck feels alive. I think I liked my truck before. I now love it. Smooth. I've always watched my fuel guage just drop like it was my speedometer when I hit the brakes. 190 miles a tank. Didn't move much from Ceres to Stockton. Maybe it's me and I'm hallucinating. Truck just drives like it should. Haven't pushed ect yet. No need. It drives better than ect, it just feels like my engine has gotten a copy of Rosetta Stone and learned how to communicate with the transmission. Will give update soon.
Most definitely saved me a lot of money as I dont feel regearing is very necessary now.

Can absolutely vouch for chanvchau's tune. He met me at work in Cupertino to get the flash done. Also honored his $250 discounted price, even though I delayed scheduling it and offered to pay the going rate.

Super nice guy, and told me exactly what to expect as the cleared ECU got its marbles back, re-learning my driving habits. Spot-on accurate. You'll spend the first 30 miles or so wondering if you may have made a mistake. :p

Honestly, I didn't find my 2021 AT that bad (although the stock shift points were a bit obnoxious). ~300 miles into it, I really like it and I'm glad I got the tune. I haven't felt the need to hit that ECT button once -- something I reflexively did on start up with the stock tune.

Throttle tip-in a also a hell of a lot nicer.

Stock MPG was 17.3 over the usual 180 mile run I do over hills to our cabin and back. That dropped to 15.1 after I added sliders, OME suspension, 285/70/17s and other goodies. With the tune, it's up to 16.3. Didn't expect that.

    Happy camper.

Added 6/26: On the same 180 mile run this week, 19.1 MPG.

Very interested in getting this tune done! I'm in NorCal area. Some extra MPG's would be great!

I'd be very leery about buying one of these tunes these days the EPA has been stomping a mud hole in a lot of diesel tuners butts these days and in a few cases have requested the addresses of who they've sold products to. It's only a matter of time

OVtune is known to pass the Smog test in California (it has been emissions tested). Can’t say the same for your black smoke mafia tune.

Unless he has a CARB E.O. number it won't matter if it passes a smog check. At some point I can totally see the EPA cracking down.
