What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I did recently swap out the original MAF with a new denso unit. If I was to nitpick, I'd say the original MAF is a little better than the new denso.

 

Naw, basing it on the inconsistent idle behavior. The new MAF had no impact on that. Also been monitoring fuel trims. While not bad, I would say with the new MAF both long-term and short-term trims are not quite as disciplined.

All in all, what that tells me is that the MAF is not part of the inconsistent idle RPMs.

Finally installed my 06 Forester seats. The grey matches almost perfectly.

 

More info please!! They look great and appear to be scads more comfortable than my well worn bench seat. How difficult was it to bolt them down?

 

I Had my alternator shit the bed driving home yesterday afternoon. Good thing for my cascadia solar panel I think. Was able to get it home with no radio no AC (35degrees with a 3year old complaining) pulled in the driveway with 11.0 v left. Threw a new one today. Now I’m just waiting for the next thing to break down…

I attempted to swap in an 03 RAV4 steering wheel. All good, but I just couldn’t Get the airbag in and leave space on the springs for the horn… after an hour fiddling with it I gave up.. I guess that’s what I get piecing this together from eBay.

Yeah, seen it too. I Got the idea from here for the rav4 wheel, but the airbag just won’t work out. I mean I can just pull the fuse for the horn lol.

 

i dont have a horn at all. had to take off to give room for the intercooler and ive continuously "forgot" to replace it for 4 years and counting

 

He fixed the extension. He even angled it to my liking and added a gusset for extra support. I probably should've shortened it another inch, but these are 33x10.5s, so 12.5s would fill it in a little more.
Then welded on these shackle mounts I bought several months ago. 2 up front to my All-Pro front bumper, and 1 to the left rear bumper.
Gave him an extra 40 bucks for doing this.

 

Finally got most of the truck done.

 

I have a set of 07 Forester seats in mine and I love them. The only issue I have is the power driver seat, I wanted a manual one.
