Long-time lurker. A few months into the ownership of my new-to-me 1998 regular cab. I wish truly compact trucks could make a comeback. I'd always wanted the regular cab; I love the compactness of this smallest ever Tacoma model. Completely bone-stock as far as I know. Super basic 2.7L, manual everything. Ice cold A/C for the ridiculous heatwave we're going through right now. Does everything it's supposed to, no more no less and fits my needs perfectly. I'm a happy camper. Regular cabs are the best. I remember when all trucks were regular cabs. I'll probably need to upgrade the suspension as it sags a little when carrying heavy loads. I believe everything is still factory original, I don't think the previous owner (an elderly farmer) replaced anything in all of it's life according to the records. I'm still getting acquainted with all the overwhelming possibilities

Is the frame rusty? Check the ball joints

Thanks. Toyota said ball joints were good. This was a farm truck that appears to have been serviced and maintained at the same Toyota dealership nearly its entire life. Frame is remarkably clean with a little bit of surface rust towards the rear which I'll tackle next month
