New to the Tacoma world, hello. Recently bought a 2011 Access cab,99000 miles, 4cyl., 5 speed,6' bed, Taco.
First mod, stereo- needed review camera, couldn't see behind me. Spent too much for a Kenwood 9707s head unit and some Memphis Speakers. Truck came with a sub. amp so threw a little Pioneer sub back there too. Sounds incredible.
Second mod- Fat Bob's leveling kit. One of the reasons I like the Taco is it's ground clearance- first big wups, didn't realize 5lugs are not too lift able. Wanted Bilstein 4600s for the front but could not find driver side for the life of me, went with Toyota OEM front shocks to compliment the
Fat Bob's rear shocks. I was expecting a worse ride but it rides much better and I don't feel like I'm in a low rider anymore.
Third mod - Northern Tools tool box which is actually a Better built tool box. Already broke the bank so went budget on the box. Pain in the butt trying to tighten the inner connectors.
Other Mods - Seat cover, floor mats, Ac nobs, breather filter.
Next mods -hopefully gain another inch- tires. Currently have 235/70/15, getting about 19 mpg city driving. Not sure I'm willing to pay the price to go much larger 31/10/15 would be nice but may require different rims.
    Alarm.
Pretty much have the Taco the way I want it now. I do like the noise of a Magnaflow and maybe even header $$, But will try to enjoy the Taco's quiet buzz for now. Lord willing, hope to keep this truck for a long time.

Thanks to all of you for all of your input, been reading a lot of forums and gaining much knowledge about the awesome 5Lug Taco.

Thanks, The Tacoma is replacing my 1996 Cherokee - RWD not 4WD, 4 cyl. 5 speed. Hope to sell it to pay for some of the Tacoma mods.
Put a ton of money into the Cherokee and it still runs like crap. Hope to get around $2500. for it.
Upgrade news - Ordered a variable wiper, arrived today. Can't wait to revisit forum showing how to put it in. Hope I'm patient enough with the connectors and don't go pulling them apart wrong. IMG_6128.jpg

If only the Jeep were a 4.0 w/4WD.
You could fetch a small fortune for it where I live.
They are just about as dependable as the Tacoma.

I have an uncle that buys them for nothing but farm work.
They make great fence repair trucks.

Thanks for the advice, so far ride is decent and it's not going off roading, there are some pot holed roads out in the boon docks though. Will have to see how that goes. Realize it's a truck and expect a truck ride. Those shocks look great, Amazon says they don't fit and your truck says they do? Do you have a 1st gen. taco? Mines 2nd. gen.

Thanks for the thread. Will look into it. Replaced wiper stalk today paid $143.00 for it on Amazon - ouch. No problems, probably took me less than 10 minutes to install and I didn't even break anything. Including pics of wiper, AC nob, Kenwood,a and little Pioneer 8" Sub. mods. Next thing to change down the road is tires, possibly wheels. Goal is to gain a little more height without sacrificing too much on mpg and durability.

Just checked ebay, oops. Your cluster looks great. I attempted something like that on my Jeep and it went a little sideways.I would like to put in fog lights, not sure if I'll diy it or pay $$. Kinda want an alarm too so I can annoy the neighbors. Gotta pay off some of these previous things first.

New tires !!!!! Just put 31X10.5/15s on some used Eagle One or Enkei aluminum rims. Unfortunately the steel TPMS sensors I got for it don't work, maybe rubber ones will? They want 70.$ per sensor!!! They are old IMG_E7813[1].jpgrims, before sensors came out i'm hoping something will work. Couldn't pick it because they still needed to align it. Will update on how it rides, mpg, etc. Would love to find a 4.10 third member.
