I have a Magnetic Gray 2018 TRD Off Road and I want to get rid of my chrome rear bumper caps and get matching ones. Just wondering if anyone has any for sale or could point me in the direction to get rid of the awful chrome. I'd prefer magnetic gray so they match my truck. Located in Western NC.

    Thanks

Thanks! I'll check into it later on in the day and see what answer I can get. If they can't paint to match, at least I found the bumper caps and can have someone locally paint them :fingerscrossed:

Just sharing my experience with this. I wanted black. Debated painting the chrome, but I didn't want to worry about maintaining chipped paint. Found some black ones for about $47/each, helluvalot easier. Installation was simple but took quite a bit of bending to get the new caps in and out, and the metal clip on the back is possible to get back in.

It's frustrating that Toyota doesn't sell these kinds of plastic parts prepainted.

Definitely give the BumperShellz a look. Simple solution to get rid of the chrome look.

How did you get the metal clip back in? And how easy was the uninstall and reinstall?
I dinged up the chrome one and need to replace it

You can try your luck at wraping the bumper caps as I did. Wasn't too difficult to do it just takes some patience and a heat gun. Search tacoma bumper wrap on ebay cost about $45 for two color matched sheets.

I wish I could find the video on YouTube, but if you watch a couple you’ll probably see it. Basically took a strip of duct tape about 1 inch wide and 12 inches long, folded it back on itself so that I was left with a piece about 6 inches long with about 1/2inch of sticky at the very end. I stuck the clip to that little sticky part and dangled it down behind the bumper cap. Took a few tries to get it to land where it needed to be. Was able to get a finger or two on it and wiggle it down on to the tab. Not sure it that makes sense, but basically if you can stick the clip to your finger, all you need to do it slip it behind the bumper and press it on. Hope that helps. I think it’s worth it to get a more secure fitting.

Did it come with a kit or just the wrap?

Sorry for the reply a year later, I just did mine and spent a few hours fighting with that clip. If you remove the taillights before you get started, that clip is a breeze to remove and reinstall. And with the clip removed at the beginning, you don't need to break any of the step plate clips that everyone on YouTube does.
