Got a letter in the mail from Toyota, telling me to come down and pick up a new 2021 SR5 for the same monthly price as my 2019. I thought it sounded strange so i went over to KBB and looked up the value of my car. 2019 SR5 with a few cosmetic mods, 9,974 miles. To my surprise, the trade in range was $32,000-$38,000. I bought the truck in May 2019 for $33,500.

Went to Toyota just to see what i could get for trade-in. They returned with an offer well over my original purchase price. Decided it was time for an upgrade.

Here is my trade in, now sitting in the "Look at me!" spot on the dealer lot, front and center.

And here's my new one. 2021 TRD Sport, with all of the add-ons except for the tonneau. Decided to save that money for something i'll actually use, like a shell or rolling cover. Still undecided on the name. It's a toss up between Loki and Master Chief.

Drove straight from the dealership to my house to grab my wheels and tires I bought during the 3 week wait, then over to Discount Tire. Total mileage on stock wheels and tires: 7 miles.

Went with the same wheels I had on my trade-in. I thought this would be the perfect time to see whats out there and make a new selection, but I kept coming back to the Fuel Shok wheels. Only this time around I went with 18x9 -12, instead of the 17x9 +1. Wrapped in Nitto Ridge Grapplers 285/65/18. Quite a bit of rubbing on both sides when the wheel turned more than about 40%, all plastic. 5 minutes with a dremel and a saw blade attachment and no more rubbing. Now to wait while my lift parts are delivered from Amazon.

Parts showed up the next day, but didn't arrive until around 4:00. I decided to dive in. First time messing with suspension(I'd like to thank the YouTube content creators for the help).

If I would have just purchased pre-assembled front coils this would have been a pretty quick job, maybe 90 minutes. But no, I wanted to save myself the $60 by purchasing the parts separate. Also probably wasn't the best idea to purchase a spring compressor from the company that is known for making shitty tools(you know the one).

Everything worked out ok, just extremely sketchy with how much those compressors warped while the spring was under pressure. I actually fetched my catchers mask out of my baseball bag to wear during the spring portion. Looked like a clown, and I don't know how much it would help if I took a spring to the face, but I felt better about it lol...

Went with Eibach sport shocks with Eibach pro springs on the front. Bilstein 5100s on the rear with a Torch AAL.

Got the front end done right as I lost daylight. Sweet, should be able to drive it to work tomorrow morning like this......

....Maybe not lol. Got in and couldnt see over the hood. Gonna have to take the wife's Crosstrek for the day and knock out the rear that night.

Went as planned. The rears only took about an hour. I started installing the 1.25" spidertrax spacers purchased on TW a few weeks back. I installed the rears without issue, got the front driver side done, took off the passenger wheel to find I was missing 2 lugnuts. The box showed up with a hole ripped in the side from postal mishandling then covered in tape. A few of the lugnuts must have fallen out before they noticed the damage. Rookie mistake by not counting before starting the work. I left the rears on but removed the front driver until the replacements get here.

Here it is in its full glory. On flat ground, the front end sits 1/4" higher than the rear at the fender. I may drop it down to the bottom notch from the current position at the second.

TRD Pro Grille with lights and gold TOYOTA lettering already installed, same with the side steps. I'll add the photos this weekend once its completely debadged.

Looks great. How do you like the Torch AAL? I'm looking to pick up an AAL and saw this as a reasonable option.

I've only driven with it for about 300 miles, and turns out i installed my collars up front upside down so the whole truck rides less than stellar... lol. They seem solid, install was smooth. I'll update the ride quality once I swap the collars this weekend.

That sucks to hear. Hopefully you get everything figured out and dialed in. Did the Torch AAL come with all the hardware needed for the install? Thinking of purchasing it. I recently put on 5100s and OME 887's. I have a little bro lean in the front.

The only hardware i needed it came with. Just longer bolts for the stack. They're far too long though. After the install I had to take my hacksall and cut about 3" off the bolt to allow the bump stops to sit flush.

I really like the look of 18’s. The gold looks well with the green too.
