It's more of an inconvenience at best.

    Stock. For now.
Make sure you go loaded with plenty of info on current prices for the Gen1's. Low mileage, taken care of vehicle like yours would net some serious coin on the market. Don't let them give you the "kelly blue book value" nonsense. Kelly blue book does not reflect current real world value or replacement pricing for these trucks.

SCUM BAGS! That sucks I feel for you. It is so much worse when it is a old truck that you purchased new and took care of all these years. Your truck was worth 10x whatever the insurance will pay.

About 10 years my co worker had his 1985 Toyota 4x4 pickup stolen. He purchased it new, took immaculate care of it and planed on never selling it. One night he hears it start so he hit the ground running, got in his wife's bronco chased the motherf*%ers while calling the police. They ended up putting it in the ditch and getting away on foot. Fortunately it had very little damage, he fixed it and put a battery disconnect switch under the seat inside a lockbox to prevent this from happening again.

They ended up moving to a house on the other side of town probably 5 miles away. About 6 months later he goes outside one morning and his Toyota is gone. The Bronco had 4 flat tires. If they want it bad enough they will find a way. I hate people...

THIS. Roll up your sleeves, and be ready to fight. Find several comparables in the area that sold recently as well

Have to say, I'd much rather steal an MT than an AT- just get in the truck, pull the e brake and coast the truck out of the driveway. Push it down the street a little ways with the help of a buddy and start it out of ear shot. I'm assuming the 1G Tacoma don't have immobilizer chips in the keys - I know my 3G 4Runner didn't have it.

OP! I think we found the thief! At the very least, we found the thief of that 3rd gen 4Runner.
