Good morning! Interrupted my sleep a half dozen times to check the temp outside so I could open up the house. I've got a feeling I'll crash later but I guess we'll see.

These 2 are definitely my favorites. Thanks for sharing guys!

I may or may not have one sitting in my Amazon cart tempting me.
    I miss them both :(

I just realized the other day that we're nearly parallel to a wedding venue so I've got a feeling they will put up quite the show... Along with our neighbors at the end of the road
Did you see our fireworks ordinance I posted the other day? It's actually been legal to set things off since last week. I kinda forgot what it was like to have fireworks stands everywhere.

    I did.
If there are any local ordinances here, nobody is paying any attention.
When people fire off bottle rockets and roman candles from their back yards, I'm guessing no.

I should go to the township website and check.
People are pretty good though about not setting stuff off late at night.

Nobody gives a shit aboot fireworks since they made it legal. They added a 12% tax on top of the 6% sales tax for a total of 18%. The state law says that you can’t light them off within 150 feet of an occupied structure whether or not there is actually a person present. Nobody listens to this and the cops have better things to do so as long as people have free money to piss away, that’s what they will do. I’m not knocking anyone here but in my observation, the poorer a person is, the more noise they like to make.

I actually think our ordinances are lax just so that the police can disregard most complaints as legal and focus on better things to be out doing. I'm okay to put up with fireworks for a few nights and the neighbors don't torture us to much with it. They have a house full of kids and we get a free show so whatever :notsure:

I can't say about the wind turbines, those are nowhere near me so I never see them.

The idea for these mandatory power downs is that in "adverse" weather conditions, a utility company must shutdown circuits where there is an increased risk that the weather could lead to a fire. Such as wind blowing a tree or large branch into a power line; or excessive heat starting a fire; lightning in the Sierra Nevada mountains;..... which could be started by power lines, or could be made worse by power lines going down and then causing more fires. This was State regulations put into place after the "Camp" fire in late 2018 when the small northern California town of Paradise was almost completely burned to the ground when that fire was started by power lines in a tree. Many of the utility companies out here have neglected to do proper maintenance - such as trimming trees to keep them a safe distance from power lines, for decades, and it finally came back to bite them in the ass.

Fireworks sucked when I had to get up at 2:30am to go to work. It didn’t help that the town set them off near my house. The only good part was that my grandkids could watch the display from my driveway.

    Morning all.

Garden is coming along. Needs some major weeding and a bit of thinning.
