IronPeaks Forest Road Cruiser

Fitting a 255 in the spare spot. The tire was initially rubbing on the exhaust shield as shown. I bent the opposite tire positioner away, and the one on the passenger side in a bit using a sledge. Now the tire clears the exhaust by a good 1/4"+, but the bottom pic shows it against the drivers side spring hanger. Ill have to moniter this. Also going to add some heat shield material to the exhaust, to suppliment the factory shield, for peace of mind in case the tire shifts.

Purchased the GPX/GPS waypoints/routes for the Oregon Backcountry Discovery Routes, planning on tackling some southern sections and visit friends in Bend, with a free week I have coming up. Trying to prioritize what tools, spare parts to bring as some sections are super remote.

All these fires brought back bad memories. I have friends threatened by the Hopland and Ukiah area fires. I am overseas but watching closely and praying. Thank you firefighters. May you quell these nightmares both literal and figurative.

 

Was in district 2 Ho Chi Minh, don't know why, but in this area there was a many of these style trucks scattered about. I only took pics of a few. Thinking local OGs or rich kids with money to throw around or something. Maybe this is the Vietnamese version of the mid-life crisis? Who knows. The one with the ome bp51 sticker was on lift blocks, lol.

 

As if it were not bad already. Possible highs of 104°, and 8-17% humidity. Terrible, terrible numbers. Again my prayers are with those with endangered homes in this path, and with gardens that feed their children. May this abomination cease, and spare rural Californians any more anguish.

 

I hope this area is not affected by the camp fire it really is an unspoiled forest with great roads and nice views.

The final road trip, from Nor to So Cal, then through the Desert Southwest to Colorado. This was my third Tacoma, and yes, someday in the future I will own another. The costs associated with retaining ownership of the truck became too high while I live abroad, perhaps permanently.
