My 2005 Tacoma check engine light came on for the P0420 code. My concern or question is my mechanic says to just run the premium gas and not to worry about it. My truck runs fine I'm not afraid it will leave me stranded. I have had the front catalyic converter replaced in 2018. I just got back from Autozone and they gave me the reader to take out to my truck and they printed me out the code for replace catalyic converter. My question is should i take my truck to another shop or is it ok to take their advice and just run better gas and drive it?
