I have a 2008 SR5 Tacoma 4X4. When I make a sharp turn to the left, not sure about right, the left tire drags a bit until straightened a bit. The tire is wearing also. It has true limited slip diff. and both turn the same way when manually turned off the ground. Any ideas? Thanks.

If they turn the same way it’s locked. Or welded lol.

My understanding is that the true limited slip do turn the same way and of course the standard turn in opposite directions.

if it has a clutch pak ( I dont think it does ) Ur symptons a Worn clutch pak might do

a Torsen shouldnt act that way

    check the fluid

check rear drum brakes.........off the ground

not placing blame/fault U cant go pointing fingers

he might not have known what he had

that ounce or 2 of special goo wont kill a rear end

Maybe the previous owner changed the fluid and didn’t add friction modifier?

That might be a possibility. Will adding it now make a difference if it already has some?

    i dont think so

unless the 2 or 3 guys b4 only used off the shelf motor oil

    hydraulic

or an OFF brand diff fluid

or simply NEVER chkd & its low as hell

a bad axle seal usually is a direcr result of low fluid

the fluid in the diff runnings to the outer axle bearings usaully when cornering

    if it gets low

the outer bearing starve for lube

adding helps............tho not as much as keeping the level up

chances are U need a drain & fill After U replace both outer bearings
