So with the aftermarket community in full bloom for the 3rd Gen Tacoma, I was wondering what the thoughts were on how long there will be good availability for the second gen. I know there is a lot of shared usage on parts, but I was more concerned about fabricated items such as brackets, bed shells / racks, bumpers, skids, etc.

I'm finally coming around on starting to upgrade my truck, but I'm wondering how much time I have to work with to pick up the parts I'll be needing.

I would imagine a long while. Longer than I'd care to own my Tacoma.

Bumpers / armor are probably my biggest concern or FOMO haha

I think the second gen will be around for a while. The thing we have to remember is that Toyotas last...and last...look at the million mile Tundra.

I plan to run mine into the ground and then swap another engine in and keep it going.

You shouldn't have to worry about bumpers. There was only one company that caused issues in our community, but they were scumbags. I was fortunate enough to snag some of their armor locally and was lucky enough to not be affect by them filing chapter 7..

    Love my 2nd gen

That's the goal here as well. I want to keep mine on the road until the worms are eating me in the ground.

I think there is a shortage no matter what gen tacoma we all drive. I just ordered a shell from ARE and they are saying September /October. ADS Racing Shocks based out of Tucson--15 week backorder.

Everything is behind. Add a crazy winter, pandemic, now the searing heat....what else can we encounter?

Oh that's an easy one to answer. A planet scale cataclysmic event.

I think OP is asking about vendors making stuff for 1st gens, for example. Not that many out there.

But there are plenty now, and I dont see them going away for a long time. Especially since 05-15 fits. And 2015 was only 6 years ago
