Has anyone thought of bringing this up to Scotty Kilmer on Youtube? That dude has millions of followers and makes it a point to hold car manufacturers responsible for shit like this...

I'm still waiting to hear what Toyota says, but I'm not hopeful as, even if this is some freak defect, I really don't think I can pin it on them when it looks a whole lot more like something else. No idea what that might have been, but I'm pretty much expecting that I'll be giving my insurance company a call soon.

Mine peeled off pretty much on both sides of the truck in that same area. Corporate took down my information but no action was taken. I've been just living with the ugliness of the two spots. More of you all need to complain and maybe our trucks will get fixed. :fingerscrossed:

93F0F931-3ACE-408A-9C1A-4A819F6AF0AF.jpg Well, add me to the list of disappointed Tacoma owners. Just ordered my new dbl cab SR5 5 days ago, and the used dept. wants to buy my 2014 TRD sport ac. Apparently there is a huge shortage of used Tacoma’s. I’m the original owner, and with 93k mostly commute miles it’s really clean. So with 6-8 weeks delivery, they offer a few grand over high blue book, and good with taking my trade when I pickup the new truck. So today I go to rinse the truck off before going to lunch, and here I am. Just a garden hose with a spray nozzle, and not just one door both passenger and drivers door........same location.

This has been happening since the 80s. A warranty is only good for so many days and then we are left holding the bag. At least the motor and drivetrain won’t leave you stranded in your multicolored rusted out 4 x 4

My 2017's hood is peeling and rusting now because of this, and of course the dealership want nothing to do with it. Really glad I have Toyota Care so they can do fuck all about my paint. Such a pain in the arse - how does a four year old truck have rust already?!

Add me to the list. Rear passenger door below the window trim. It’s not half as bad as some in this thread but I take very good care of my truck. It a 2014 with 109k miles. Still shouldn’t happen reguardless. 1832ACA9-FE3B-4ECC-B301-C9B5DC6E7263.jpg

20210703_094155.jpg 20210703_094232.jpg You can add mine to this list. Driver side rear passenger door around the window trim and on under the hood on the inside of passenger fender where the hood sits.

Here’s what my rear passenger door looks like after only about 2 months. And my front passenger door started doing it as well 297E3EA6-B5BC-4C5B-A21D-590290392A70.jpg

Jeez, I’m considering myself lucky I have a 2011 Super White with 240k on it don’t think it was washed regularly and all I have is a few tiny rust specks on the window. This is totally unacceptable.

Ok so, I just got a call from my dealership and there going to cover my 2 passenger doors that the issue is on. But they are calling it “good faith” so they said they won’t be giving me a loaner or a rental, and they’ll have my truck for about a week and a half.

I’m not exactly complaining, but I am. In the fact that it’s a known issue on super white and blizzard white pearl, enough to have a warranty enhancement on it with unlimited mileage, it just happens to not include Tacoma.

Hopefully I can get to work for 7-10 days on “good faith”

basically if you keep hounding your dealership Toyota will do something about it. And if it becomes a big enough issue than Tacoma will be added to the warranty.

C0FCFA87-2A04-424B-8B9F-EEAE4CA2D4AC.jpg I have a 2016 super white with the same issue. Went to the dealer and they gave me the number for corporate. Went round and round with two different levels of customer service to try and raise enough stink so someone will listen.
So there is an extended paint warranty program that will cover certain paint issues up to 14 years but as of right now Tacoma’s are not on the list. I’d like to know how some tacoma owners have gotten theirs resprayed and what avenues they took to get it done. Hit a wall here. C0FCFA87-2A04-424B-8B9F-EEAE4CA2D4AC.jpg
