Hi all I have a wobble in my steering wheel. Most noticeable at around 70mph. And sometimes while braking. I figured it was my tires out of balance so I got them rotated and rebalanced. I still have the issue. Suggestions on where to look would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Thats for under 30mph, OP is getting vibration around 70mph

Tell us what has been done to the truck and we can get a better idea of whats going on. Do you have a lift? aftermarket wheels? spacers?

How many miles do you have? Original tires? 2wd or 4wd? did it just start doing it one day, or has it gradually started doing it?

Wobble is best I can describe it. Maybe a shimmy. If I have my hands off the wheel at 70 it moves slightly back and fourth quick.

I had a similar issue with my Chrysler. Turned out to be a seized front passenger brake caliper. Do you smell hot brakes after a drive? Smell led to the passenger side caliper.

Next drive I will check this out. My brakes have been doing the same type of thing coming to a slow stop they feel like I have inconsistent braking. Kind of like pumping the brakes slightly.

How many miles on the tires?
You could check the balance by putting the front wheels+tires on the back, and back on the front. If the wobble shifts to the back, it's wheels/tires (balance, uneven wear, or out of round). If the wobble's still in the front, it could be brakes or suspension in decreasing order of likelihood. Since you are feeling the brake pulsating thing, that's a clue...

So there will be a few things your going to want to check. Lift the front of the truck off the ground (both front wheels) From there you will want to grab each tire at 12 and 6 (clock positions) and rock the wheel back and forth. then do the same thing but at 3 and 9. Do this for both front wheels. 12 and 6 will show a bad wheel bearing if you feel it move, 3 and 9 will show a bad tie rod.

After you have checked those do a visual inspection of the front suspension and CV axles.

Oh yeah you got warped rotors then. Time for new brakes. If you do it your self lube all slide points.

Would warped rotors give me the wobble? Seems like they would need to really be out of shape to feel it.

They would make your steering wheel go back and forth, though mostly when braking.

My stuck caliper made the steering wheel move back and forth at highway speeds.

New rotors and pads where on my list anyway. Hopefully it solves both problems. If I do have a seized brake caliper is it something I can unseize or am I going to need new parts?

I replaced mine. I tried lubing all the slide pins, but it did not help. First time I pushed the pedal, caliper got stuck and shimmy came back.
