Is anyone else having this issue? It's an automatic but I still use the emergency brake to avoid hard shifting out of park after start. The truck will not move in P, R, nothing.. I have to get out and manually rock the truck for the e-brake to release. Shits getting really annoying and if this is a sign of times to come, Caravana can have it for the 42k they are offering.

Sometimes the shoes can flash rust to the drums with rain / humidity. Are you Lifted?

If you are lifted and the shop did not back off the tension on the pull handle this can happen. It did to me. The pull handle should click seven times. Not three as mine did after a lift. My parking brake would engage at random times when there was any movement of the rear axle.

I have also learned not to apply the parking brake immediately after a water crossing due to the flash rusting mentioned.

I had a lot of dramas and grief with my parking brake until I figured these two items out. A Toyota mechanic diagnosed my first issue.

Take the 42 and buy a once in a lifetime low mileage pre covid OR. Bulletproof!

Truck is completely stock other than an S&B CAI and full set of skids, and I've done the kicker speaker upgrade. No suspension work yet. Flash rust makes A LOT of sense considering I just came back from a week in AMI, FL and it did it to me on the first start (e-brake was engaged while I was away). If I could find an OR for the same price I'd swap, but they are not going for less than or equal to mine. I only payed 35 for it (Toyotathon+ matching down payment). But at the time the OR isn't worth that much more to me. I have a rear locking diff from a 19 OR that I just haven't had installed yet, and crawl control is worthless for someone like me that doesn't want or need a computer driving for me anywhere, let alone while Wheelin'.
