Can I get some advice on adding a 1/4 spacer to each side of my coil overs. I have the Vertex 3.5 by RC and I would like another half inch of front lift, they barely yielded 3” out of the box. Truck still has a slight rake would like it level without pre loading my springs. Has anyone done this? I’m not a real hard off reader either. Oh and my CV boots are not touching so I know they will probably after. Thanks

Don't do it unless you have stock in a CV/axle company.

Once the CV boot fins touch, they will rub apart in no time and you'll be replacing and/or rebooting CV axles constantly.

That being said, people put small spacers on top of coilovers all the time to compensate for lean in one direction. Usually not 1/4" though

So do you suggest just adjusting the spring preload to get a little more

That'll do the same thing, higher you go the steeper the CV angles will get. Unless you do a body lift or drop bracket lift.

This is why 3" is usually the max anyone goes (with 4wd), on IFS trucks anyway.

You said you're at 3" of lift now. That's maxed out on the CV angle. (probably)
Adding more lift/angle will just add fuel to the fire.

CV angle aside, when you get higher up in lift, you're taking away your available droop (dropout). So you'll be topping out (hitting full extension) over every little bump and it'll ride like ass.

*this applies to standard lifts, not drop brackets, long travel, etc*
