Long Bed vs. Short Bed weight capacity

    Hi guys.

    I'm a little confused. I've heard some people say that DCLBs can haul more stuff inside the bed compared to a DCSB (we're talking about DOUBLE CAB, 4x4s ONLY, by the way, to keep the variables the same).

    Some argue that the long bed can haul more because it has a stronger frame (more frame) underneath the bed. But then some others say that the shortbed can haul more because it needs to haul less of itself (long beds are obviously a little heavier because of +1 ft.)

    It would be great if someone explained or clarified! Thanks in advance :)

    It's volume not weight, unless you consider the weight ratings a suggestion.

    Yeah, I'm actually looking into weight ratings, just curious
    We all know already that the long beds have more volume, haha

    Yes, a long bed has less cargo weight capacity as stated by the door sticker than the same model short bed.

    Ah, thanks for clarifying. Just looked at the Toyota website. Seems like 50 pounds less
