Hi Folks - When off pavement (gravel or fire roads) I have a annoying squeak I haven’t identified as of yet and it’s driving me bonkers!

I recently upgraded to a set of Fox Pro shocks that just had a factory rebuild done on them and it actually seems as though the sound could be coming from the shock itself, but I hit the leafs with some silicone just to see if the noise would dissipate and it didn’t. Anything else I should check for this kind of noise in the rear passenger side aside from the potential of having to pull the shock and send it back which I obviously want to avoid if possible. Shock seems to be performing well overall but that noise is terrible off pavement!

Make sure your spare tire is secure. Mine squeaked like that after I installed the anti-theft device and didn't retract it well enough. I thought it was secure but there was still a little of play.

yeah I followed the factory instructions as far as stacking the bushings was concerned but if I can’t figure it out, I’ll probably pull it back apart to be sure. Doesn’t seem to be coming from the leafs

I had a problem with a terrible squeak after reinstalling my icons. Turns out the bottom shock bolt was bent just a little bit on the drivers side.

I’ve never dropped the spare, but just checked to be sure. Nothing loose there

possible. I did have a bitch of a time getting the lower mounts to line up and had to use a pry tool even then it was pretty hard to get it to compress enough to fit, so it’s not impossible. Sounds like I’ll live with it this week as I’m headed to the mountains and don’t have time to pull it apart beforehand, then pull and inspect fully.

Can you recreate the squeak by bouncing/rocking the truck up and down/ side to side, from driver or passenger door

Rocking truck side to side I can recreate it and it’s definitely passenger rear. Never hear it on pavement but as soon as I’m on gravel it squeaks like a pig

Try power washing the leaf springs and re-lubricating. Clears up my squeaks for a while till they dry out again.

Does it still make the noise if you put pressure on the rear passenger fender while rocking it?

Now that it has had a chance to settle, have you re-torqued everything?

This. For the longest time I though it was my leafs. My spare tire was making this exact same noise. I lowered it, cleaned it up and no more noise.
