Handle straight in line , plug is flaccid and falls out of hole. Handle 90 degrees plug swells up and fills hole with girthiness .
Handle 90 degrees dangling under boat into water resistance , makes handle flip up to straight line flaccid position , falling out ... water in boat

 

Is that yer last fix???

 

I mean.. I can usually mend the problem if they want a temporary fix to satisfy their metrics, but that would be in poor form and the Ho ain't about dat

 

Okay, so we're describing the same thing in different ways.

Down is 90 degrees to me.

90 should be closed but you also have to tie it that way otherwise it can flip open (straight) and fall out into the depths?

I'm with @StayinStock and this would be a non issue if you put the plug inside the boat...in a (flipped) down position which is 90 and closed

Friend of mine who fishes a lot came in this morning and ask if I wanted any crappie, I said no thanks.

Cole ask me why, I said cause I don't know how to clean them and they probably have a lot of bones in them. I'm sure my buddy would show me how to fillet them or whatever, you ever eat them? Are they good?

 

They are probably the best tasting freshwater fish around. I always fileted them with an electric knife. It's actually very easy to do. I don't do fish bones.

 

I would have ask you but we don't have white perch here
