Lunch! I love ketchup with salmon patties under it

 

That sounds like no fun at all.

 

That was a rough one; IIRC, it got close to freezing overnight at least once.

 

I'll take our snowstorms and thunderstorms up here. Although our winters have been getting more and more neutered each year.

 

Most of the time I would say I'm staying regardless but for Michael in 18 I was in a condo beachside and we lost power for over a week and the condo association wouldn't let people run generators. That and if the storm would've hit at high tide, they were predicting 15 foot storm surges = Cocoa Beach is a new reef.

I was lucky my parents live a bit inland and I could hide out there.

 

Ketchup kills the taste.

 

Yes sir, mom made them a lot growing up and I learned if you put enough ketchup on them they taste like ketchup but meatloaf, can't kill that taste with anything

 

I haven't eaten salmon patties since I was a kid, but when I did...I covered them in ketchup too. Or mustard. Or mayo. Or pretty much anything.

 

My mom used to buy olive loaf. I despise olives and the only way I could stomach eating olive loaf sandwiches was by putting copious amounts of mayo, ketchup and mustard on the sandwich.

 

The inner Seattle kid in me is screaming at you all right now. salmon is the jam. Little lemon and pepper, good to go!

 

I love grilled salmon, salmon patties, not so much.

 

Ketchup on salmon? Thats nasty

Fair. Best way to eat salmon is in a benedict and a couple fingers of a good whiskey. Hotel Alexis or the Ballard Cafe in WA are the places you seek.

So the sawmill I took the new position at has these old relics in the shop. Which is taking some getting used to since the shop is 1/4 the size of the one I had been in. I'm no machinist, I've never even turned a lathe on. Hopefully we hire somebody soon who knows how to run these things properly...

 

Wonder what the piece of square tubing hanging on the string from the lathe is used for? Maybe a weight to keep a handle a certain way?
