Let's See Some Softoppers

Mine arrived today and just installed it, the pivot brackets angle down like everyone elses. more so on drivers side then passenger, man it's a tight fit when first putting it on. i was considering going to the lower pivot hole but i suspect it will loosen up once it wears in. i like it so far quality seems great, i went with the snaps for the front flap. going to run an opt-7 rear tailgate light bar to make up for not having a 3rd brake light now.

 

Hit the trails this weekend for some Mt Biking. I like that my truck matches the bike.

 

HHmmmm was googling softopper and came across this thread. Got my taco ordered and I've been thinking Tonneau cover or topper. Now I'm starting to think about softopper. Is it worth the price? I mean, after spending 30k+ on a truck, $800 isn't horrible, but I also am gunshy about more money. Seems to be a lot of love for these. Just don't know.

 

I love it. Its simple, very light and versatile. Quick to put up, down or even remove. Keeps items out of site and out of mind. And bottom line, looks darn cool.

 

Thanks. I was looking at it because I like the idea of a topper, but occasionally need the full bed for hauling stuff or my mountain bike. Also I was thinking it looks like a decent option for truck camping, just use it as a bed tent.

 

Had mine for 2 years now and absolutely love it. I can use my truck bed when I need it without having to move a shell. Had a tonneau before this and can't imagine going back.

Those lights look great. What do you have to do if you wanna fold down the topper? Everything attached securely? Disconnect one wire?

 

I used some magnets to mount mine so that I can remove then easily. Used rare earth magnets and they have not budged, even when off road.

 

As of now I just have the wires zip-tied in a way that will let it fold, but they are loose and in the way. I plan to get disconnects and I’ll probably attach it to the pivot point.

 

Damn, I'm really digging the lighting!

 

Any voodoo blue Tacos out there with a Tan softopper. I think I am going to like that look the best. Would like a visual though. Thanks.

 

Looking for a cage rack to go over my SofTopper. Datin Fab is what SofTopper plugs on the site, but I know there are quite a few options on the market right now. Anyone have this setup currently and willing to share pics/product info?
