I drive my dads F-150 when I get desperate to go somewhere. I'm a college student on winter break so it's not like I'm busting at the seams to be anywhere right now. Everything where I live is shut down anyway.

My dealership is cheeks. I was sitting in there talking to the service manager and another Service Associate turned away another Tacoma driver because they can't get the parts for the recall. Happened right beside me. At least he wont be in the same situation I am in.

OK I see. I'm glad your not in dire straights. As the other person earlier posted, most people wouldn't be able to go with transportation for that long but your not most people. You will be though when you graduate. I wish you well. Keep us posted on you outcome

So unless they've actually ran out of parts for this recall, your supposed to give your VIN, they order the part, and when it comes in they call you and make an appointment for the repair. Mine took a week from VIN reporting to the call back for the appointment.

Exactly ... That would be like going to the doctor and having them tell you .. 'You're sick ... But we're not gonna tell you exactly what's wrong with you..' WTF, really??? That's absolute bullshit and I wouldn't put up with that for about 2 seconds.
If the dealer broke something outside of the scope of THE actual fuel pump .. Hey... Shit happens. Been there a few times myself.. But at least own-up to it and tell you exactly what's wrong.
I'd have a lot more respect for the service manager that came out and said 'Hey .. We fucked up ... While taking apart 'XXXXX', we broke 'XXXXXX' and it'll take a bit to get a new 'XXXXX' and we own it ... So sorry..'
But this whole 'Next Tuesday .. Oop, no make that next Friday .. Oop, no make that next week .. Maybe... Oop ... We'll let you know when ..' thing is absolutely unacceptable.
OP ... I'd go in there and make a stink. If nothing else but to find out 'OK.. WTF is the problem exactly??'

I'd lose my mind and call the district service manager.

Yeah it's complete BS and my dealer does not want to take responsibility or even make any effort to speed things along. It's basically "we get to it when we get to it" at this point.

Tried that, hasn't made any difference. He said he'd investigate and get back with me but that was over a week ago.

My dealer emailed me a couple weeks ago asking if I wanted to schedule a time to get the pump replaced. I said sure so she ordered the parts. They had them within a week and I had it replaced Wednesday no sweat.

TLDR: My dealer could beat up your dealer and she's a chick.

"Solution" must mean parts. I wonder who their pump supplier is, Walbro?

I just paid her off and got the recall letter faster than the title. The recall letter states "I will get another letter in the mail when a remedy is available". What the f**k does that mean?

Was taking a break from the dealer since it took them a week to replace my clutch master. Sudden loss of power really has me concerned. Wish I could just put a walbro in there, they used to past forever.

Finally got logged back into my account so I'm going to give my final (long awaited) update to my problem.

I ended up not getting my truck back until sometime in mid-January. The dealership had kept it for well over a month. They still never told me what part they "broke" but thankfully when I got it back as far as I could tell there was nothing wrong with it, and there was not a scratch on it. Since then I've made a ton of modifications to my truck and have done all the work myself. I will never let a dealership work on my vehicles again.
