My poor baby is totaled :(
Someone pulled out in front of me running a stop sign and I had to swerve to not T-bone him. Thankfully no serious injuries.

The Tacoma handled the accident like a champ and the airbags were nice a comfy. Lol.. very sad to see my truck with all the memories resting in peace at the tow lot.

On the bright side this gives me an excuse to upgrade to 4wd and start a new build…

It's always a sad day when your truck has to save you! I know the feeling all to well, when our '14 TX edition died... But, upgraded to the '17 Pro already mostly built! So Good News, you're alive and you should get a good payout to help with the new build!!!

Aw damn! Similar thing for me a couple months ago, driving along minding my own business in my 2019 SR5, someone came into my lane and our front driver's sides collided. No one hurt seriously, and yes air bags and energy absorbing structure are nice to have. You mentioned "excuse to upgrade to 4wd" - exactly what I did, found a 2021 TRD Offroad 4wd and now much happier on the other side of the whole experience. Enjoy the transformation!

Glad you are ok, it isn't till one gets into an accident to understand how the Tacoma performs in the protection of the passingers.

i think I was going 45 mph. Hard to remember exactly but nothing too crazy. I saw the guy at the last second and hit my breaks right before impact so assuming it got my speed down just a notch

Look at his front tire. He did not hit hard enough to bring the cab mount into play.
