So like the title says . Oem battery taking a crap having random starting issues . Any recommendations on a replacement battery . Don’t want to waste my time going to the dealer to get the same shit battery .that’s if they will replace it anyways . Pretty sure they will say it’s my amplifier for my sub killing the battery . So looking for other suggestions for replacement . Thanks all .

The dealer battery is covered under warranty, and thus free.

    Just sayin'.

Strange, my OEM battery is original and still going strong. I blast my stereo at 55-60 for hours when I’m camping too.

    Check your battery cable clamps.

Mine made it 28 months. Put a 27F Die Hard in it over 3 years ago and it's been a rock.

Walmart's Everstart Max and Costco's Interstate batteries are great value, with a good warranty, and both are made by Johnson Controls if I'm not mistaken. That being said, let the dealer replace it if still under warranty. You paid for that inherently; when you purchased your truck.

My battery was warranted twice and decided to just get a yellow top battery. No problems since.

let them change it under warranty. My replacement battery was better quality than what they installed in Texas.

Got about 12 months out of mine. Just went to north star AGM. Could have warranties it but did not want to waste the time and end up with another POS. I think I’m general stock batteries go that way. My wife’s Subaru got about 24 months.

I've always had good luck with Toyota TrueStart batteries. My '17 is still on the original battery. Although my mileage (18k) is low

F@ck, I got the extended warranty and first thing they said to me was that it wasn't. 24 months and dead.

My original lasted a year from purchase (and I picked it up the day it came off the truck). The free replacement is still going strong over 3.5 years later.

Mine lasted until I was inside the COVID-19 vaccination building and the nurses had to push out my 2 year old Tacoma. Not a great day. So sure it is under warranty but it’s prorated - right? I got a Napa maintenance free. Done.

Mine wasn’t prorated. The dealer just replaced it.

My battery died at 33 months. Toyota gave me a new battery at no cost. My feeling is always get the free battery from a Toyota while under warranty. When out of warranty get the battery you want on your own dime.

Just curious if any of you who are having premature battery issues took preventative steps such as topping batteries off with distilled water and periodically fully charging via battery tenders. I checked mine after 6 months of ownership, and it was surprisingly low on water.

You paid for the warranty, use it.

They can't claim it was your stereo, they'll put a meter on it and replace it if it fails the bench test.
