Elmira NY ? Near Binghamton ?
I don’t miss driving . The large supermarket company I drove for was great pay but 70-80 hours a week . I barely slept and it made me physically ill . Worked there about 3 years and that’s all I could handle . I also drove for a soil company and made up my own hours . Typically start between 230-4 am until 2-4 pm so most driving was during daylight hours . But going to work in the daylight then it was dark then light again before your done really fucks you up .

 

Yup, that Elvira. 1st stop is Horseheads and that’s only 15 minutes away from Elmira. That’s about the only thing I have working for me so far.
I usually stay very local (35 mile radius) but not today.

 

The soil company I did a lot of miles . Pa.,NJ,NY ,Ct,RI,MA,VT,NH, sometimes Maryland. If I could make to where I was going in 5.5 hours we did it . Then 5.5 hours back . Sometime I would cheat my paper log . Once the computer log came out sometimes I had to pull over and someone would come and drive me back because I ran out of drive time . Soil mostly went to Agway .

 

There’s no fooling the computer.

I was on a flight and ordered a whiskey. The nun seated next to me said

I drove out with a delivery near Buffalo NY once . Took almost 6 hours to get there . Boss said you can make it . Day cab . They only scheduled that delivery because of some special back haul for some one . So I get to the back haul and it’s snowing like crazy . Go inside and the woman at the desk says was that you that just pulled in here with a flat bed ? I said yes I’m from Gro- Max for the back haul. She says we don’t load flat beds . All that for nothing . Dispatch idiots . I have no idea what the back haul was

I did and got banned from that airline.

 

Just found out the complete M*A*S*H series is on Hulu. I know how I’m spending my free trial subscription.
