Hot enough to melt nylon directly. But hot enough to heat something else that'll melt nylon? Maybe, maybe not.

I don't have any faith in this heat gun idea . Drill it and easy out it .

You said you've got a machine shop next door. They should be able to help. If not, I have had good success with these from Lowe's:

Has the drill bit on side and extractor on the other. Go slow and don't force it and it should back it right out.

With a 'safety' margin of 1.977 I think it will work just fine haha

    Afternoon Update!

Heat gun didn't work, I'll be getting this drilled out next week. I could always go to a hardware store and buy easyout or something like that and watch some YouTube videos and hope I don't screw it up too badly. But I'd rather have the guy next door do it so I can watch him (and ask questions) so I know how to do it myself next time.

I did get the rest of my wheels done with the black nylon bolts and now I know the correct and incorrect way of tightening these kinds of bolts.

I thought i had a decent heat gun to melt into stuff as such, but couldn't get it hot enough without destroying the heat gun. I used a plumbers map gas torch to do the job....was child's play after that. Other than that time to drill it, and use the biggest easyout.
