URD supercharger for 05+ 4 bangers?

I was around 24k miles on it , mostly all miles highway. Kept the oil up and checked everything regularly. Apparently the sun shaft goes out on these rotrex and makes a load wine and looses boost as it gets worse. Then will lock up or something worse. This is a very common problem that I have heard from people running rotrex on there kits. A company in Dallas Tx is going to rebuild my old unit as soon as I get time to ship it out.

 

Im so proud to see upgraded clamps on the positive pressure pipes. That was the first thing i noticed and went..... ooooh i dont like that. Coming from a professional diesel back ground where everything is 30-40psi boost lol it just looks like itll come off. Thats one part of the kit ill upgrade. stock screw clamps are still holding for me on @13psi but it still makes me uneasy if im way out in the hills in a couple feet of snow and i loose a clamp in the powder.

What are yall using for tuning?

 

Damn. I like that! I might also be the freak case but im hoping you have forged internals. My rod snapped at roughly 9psi 4500rpm and its been a rough road finding a good core to rebuild

 

That the LCE kit? Emailed them about it and never got a response.

 

The stock ECU as of right now. The tuner is saying they *think* they can make it work, time will tell.

Sorry to hear that and damn don’t tell me that! That’s our 07 we picked up from NC a few months ago with 27k on the clock.
The vendor is telling me that 9 lbs is no problem for the bottom end and tell me about it! Some used 2TR’s are selling on FleBay for the price of a new LS crate motor… Sold the URD kit on our 15 Access cab to possibly do an LS swap. But it’s looking like it may just get a new system too.

Hmmm… If you enlarge the top photo the vendor name is on there. Like I said not really for Prime Time.

Just got news they are going with different injectors. Just glad the tuner is being careful not to let it lean out to much.

Me too… The vendor found better injectors, they are coming from Cali. Not tuned torque 237 @ 2300 then abort.

After they finish, install the new LCE header. I’ve ordered two Magnaflow’s, a 5x8x14 will replace the 2nd cat & a 5x11x22 should help w/ 2.5” SS exhaust. Then install the 3.73 gear I have waiting.

 

Is this going to be something that anyone can purchase? Super interested!

Good news.. tracked down a second donor motor and took a bore scope to peak inside before purchase. It was beautiful inside. I say another one because the first donor supposedly has a bad head gasket and in reality… it did… which got ignored and more than likely redlined until the pistons stuck and the aluminum from #3 had melted and whisped away out the exhaust valves exposing the seats New motor #2 was flawless at 219k miles. But does need a valve job and head gasket. Just look how fresh these bearings look after rolling over 219k, cross hatch is perfect without even a hint of a ridge at the top of the cylinder. Valve seats were leaking pretty good. So LCE is now sending an oversized valve kit on my order.

 

Here’sa couple pics of the melt down block. Melted sensors and all. Yes the head got hot enough to melt the knock sensor base and the head temp sensor connector.. picture doesn’t show well but the piston is melted revealing the ring

 

I actually talked to the vendor briefly about your truck. Its gonna be awesome, you’re gonna love it

 

Hmmm… Maybe why sellers on FleBay are getting price’s for used running 2TR’s for almost as much as an new LS crate motors are selling for? The supercharger is going to be sweet but something about an LS1 w/ 350 plus HP w/ 350 plus ft lbs of Torque and 29 mpg on regular pump gas. Just keep them maintained and cool they will run almost as long as a Toyota motor.

I hope so! I’m still waiting as the tuner didn’t like something he experienced while driving on the street. Last Dyno sheet I saw was run #74
