I bought my son a 2007 SR5 Sport 4x4 Taco in 2011. My Dad always had 4Runners, since 1985. He actually bought the first automatic one sold in Ga. It was a great dependable vehicle. I have owned a couple over the years. I own a JK Rubi so Im used to having to fix stuff. the 07 Taco has been a great truck, except for the wrong size bearing on the driver side ft axel, the resistor for the fan speeds, the Throttle body and a door lock actuator... Basically the general stuff that is messed up and you dont find out until its out of warranty. My ? is I just purchased new Toyota headlights from Toyota. I had not ideal they were melting. They are the original ones, not the ones with the glass added to keep them from melting. I had no ideal when I bought them there was a problem. I was a bit shocked that Toyota sent me the old style. But to their defense, for 80.00 more $ and return shipping I can get the new design. Like a lot of you, Toyota does not share their screw ups w their customers. This truck does not have day time running lights. Will I be ok with the old style, or do I need to send these back and purchase the ones that replaced them. Im a bit shocked, but not really that Toyota still sells the original design that melted. I had no ideal. Since the original have lasted 14 years, think Im ok with the original design? Is it just a issue if you have the day time lamps ? Last thing I want to do it drop 450.00 in lights and have them melt. Thanks

You should be fine since you don't have DTRL.

I thought you have to add a resistor so they won't hyper flash? I literally have the new light bulb housings still in the boxes. Trying to decide if I should install them or send them back and get the 04210's. The Taco does not have day time lamps. In had no ideal people had headlamps melting.
