Been on the search for a cap that will allow me to fit at least one of my bikes in the bed upright with the front wheel removed. I had originally ordered a Lear 180, but they discontinued it for the DCSB some time in 2020. So I'm now looking at the ARE MX, but looking at some of the photos, it appears the rear window slants back a fair bit. With my bikes sitting rear-wheel to the front of the bed, the handlebars sit nearly at the back of the tailgate - which makes me concerned the rear window won't close with the bike that close to the tailgate. I need to get an idea of how far from the rear skin of the tailgate an object 31" tall can miss the glass. I can fit the bike in at an angle to give myself some extra space, but that starts become a problem if I try to fit two bikes at a time fairly quickly.

Used my gravel/touring bike for fit estimation as it's probably the largest/tallest/longest bike in the collection.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

I have an ARE MX on my 3rd gen DCSB and you don’t have much room over the tail gate with the glass closed. I put a block of wood on my tailgate and the line is at 31” so you can see how far the cap is in off the tailgate. Hope this helps!

Blasted, lost my reply that I was typing to @m3t5, thanks for the visual. Looks like I'd be around 4, maybe 5" back before a closed glass intersected that line. That's about what I suspected/feared based on the photos I'd seen. Thanks for the recon on that.
