I have been doing some research as my current Tacoma which is a 2014 prerunner trd sport all stock everything currently has a tire size of 265 65 R17 and I am looking to go up to a 265 70 R17. I’ve seen this question posed many times on this forum but there is mixed answers. So my question is can you run a 265 70 R17 with no rubbing? Have seen some people say you can but also some that say you can’t.

    You can easily check.

Crank your steering full Left. Measure the clearance from the wheel well to the closest point on the tire.
Crank your steering full Right. Measure the clearance from the wheel well to the closest point on the tire.

The 265/70-17 will be roughly 1/2" bigger in radius, about 1" taller.

You will need at least 1.5" clearance with your existing tires, 265/65, to fit tour new tire.

You could also use the tire calculator link.

Another question to be asking is how big of a spare tire can you carry? I am curious about that as well...

He's 2wd so he can run the stock smaller spare with no issues.
