Trying to track down a new clicking sound in that happens whenever I go over bumps in the road. Thought that it might be the core support like before when the body mount area was failing.
Found some cracks on either side by the fenders that I welded up and painted.
    20210708_182128.jpg 20210708_200222.jpg

Also bolted and welded up some other parts of the fender apron to the sides of the core support to help make things more rigid.
    20210708_200230.jpg

Found a sizable crack here. Welded a section that should prevent it from getting any worse. Didn't bother to weld up the crack.
    20210708_200258.jpg 20210708_200252.jpg

Although after all that the noise is still there :frusty:
I'm now thinking maybe it's the heims on the lower shock mounts? Gonna take them off later today and inspect them to see if they're super blown out.

Also got a rubber crawlbox mount to install, but found out after plasma cutting a hole in it that there is a front and back to the hole pattern on the bottom of the mounts.....
So looks like I'll have to cut it off and redo it so that the holes all line up.

How the holes are positioned now has the mount facing backwards.

    How it's supposed to be:

I too have a clicking sound when I go over bumps in the road. It took me awhile to figure out. It is my brake pads rattling. If I touch the brake pedal when going over a bump the click/rattle goes away. I have Tundra calipers - not sure if that makes a difference.
    Something to check?

I do have an occasional clunk in my front brakes when I brake hard to an abrupt stop, but that's always been there and I know it to be normal.
Tundra calipers are on my list of things to do. Especially with the topper and a soon-to-be bed platform.

I did find the source of the noise though. Very glad that I found it before leaving to go camping this weekend.
Bolt from one of the leaf spring keepers lost the nut and got stuck on top of the gas tank skid. Could have rubbed through the tank with enough time.

Ran Slick Rock solo this weekend with the gf. Was a great time and there was barely anyone else out on the trail.
Only people that we ran into, weren't camping which was great. Made it all the way through including gauntlet which was cool. Didn't try rock pile because I just wanted to get out of there at that point.

Only damage was getting hung up in one spot on my rear diff axle tube where basically both rear wheels were off the ground. Winched out of that spot, but at the cost the grease zerk on my rear driveshaft.
It was only a matter of time before that thing was shredded off again....

Oh and actually tagged my gas tank skid for once. About time that thing got some use

    Going up!

Right on, thanks. Probably won't be a while until I get around to fixing it. When I had my driveline rebuilt for the CB, The guy said that he had a hell of a time getting the old one out

I hear that. I need to replace mine here pretty soon. Hopefully PB Blaster and a bearing puller is enough.

I meant for the carrier bearing, but yeah, an easy out in the way for the new grease fitting.
